Unlike most countries, the Netherlands were late to the Airsoft game being approved and legalized on January 1st, 2013. With some stores opening up in the Netherlands and people beginning to get into Airsoft like Skirmshop Founder,  Barry, noticed these shops were selling low quality parts for way too much money. Barry spent a year of research checking what good quality parts in the market were and began to learn so much about Airsoft. After that year the market was still bland in the Netherlands, so Barry decided to purchase products from Japan and Taiwan to sell.

After some time of selling the products from Japan and Taiwan, he would give the companies feedback on ideas to help them grow but then started to realize he would be able to provide more energy and growth by creating his own brand for the community. Barry wanted to provide high quality and special products catered to customers and he did just that.

Once Skirmshop started to grow in popularity and demand in other countries Barry decided to expand and open a UK branch in 2017. Now the location is in Northern Ireland due to Brexit, but this move further helped the expansion of the Skirmshop brand as well as opening a location in Spain as well.

From a fruitful business relationship importing Jefe Airsoft products into Europe, Barry expanded to the US creating Skirmshop USA. With its director Jeff they focused on bringing the same values of family and community to airsoft with top brands by creating and providing high quality products, good prices, and using the best materials available. All our research and customer feedback is passed on to the brands we carry. This means that there is also progress in development.
