Why This AK Is Different From Everything Before It

Every HPA AK system that existed before the MTW AK-105 was a compromise. You took an AEG body — designed around a V3 gearbox — and forced an HPA engine into it. Compatible or not, you made it work. Shimming, alignment issues, fitment problems. The platform was never designed for HPA from the start.

Wolverine built this one differently. The MTW AK-105 was designed from the ground up around the INFERNO XTS HPA engine. The engine chassis, the trunnion, the alignment — everything was purpose-built for HPA. No compromises, no forcing a round peg into a square hole.

Build Quality — Stamped Steel

The MTW AK-105 has an authentic stamped steel receiver set — almost 1-to-1 on the externals with the real AK-105. The cleaning rod, the latch on the muzzle thread to lock in the muzzle device, the overall dimensions — modeled as close as possible to the real steel AK.

At 6 pounds this is one of the heavier airsoft rifles on the market. That's full metal stamped steel — you are getting exactly what you're paying for. If 6 pounds is too heavy, that's a you problem.

⚠️ Important — stamped steel means rust is possible. Every time you're done using it, wipe it down and oil it. Don't run it through the rain and leave it in a bag for a week. The instruction manual covers maintenance. Read it.

Real Steel Compatibility

The dimensions are authentic enough that real steel AK components fit. Grips, dust covers, sights — if you're an AK collector with parts laying around, some of them will fit the MTW AK-105. That's how close the external manufacturing process is to the real thing.

The only real difference is the inside — built around the INFERNO XTS engine instead of a bolt carrier group.

The INFERNO XTS Engine

Built from the ground up around the INFERNO XTS — intrinsic alignment with a CNC-machined aluminum and steel trunnion and engine chassis. The engine wasn't dropped into an existing body. The body was built around the engine. That's the difference.

Optics

One of the biggest complaints with AK platforms in airsoft has always been the lack of rail space for optics. The MTW AK-105 fixes that with a Picatinny rear sight rail mounted directly inline on the front — not side mounted, not an adapter. A proper optic rail in line with the bore.

Adjust your regulator output to hit your field's specific Joule limits. The 60-160 PSI range gives you plenty of room to dial it in.
