The Full Build
Before the field test, here's what the complete build looked like:
Top half:
- Stalker Alder Leaf Suit top crafted with Le Covert Halo Screen Laser Cut Kit modules — three color shades applied, Dark Treeline saved for the pants
Bottom half:
- Stalker Brown Oak Combat Pants crafted with leftover Dark Treeline HaloScreen modules + Oak Master 3D Garlands layered on top
Accessories:
- Alder Crafted Gloves — came pre-crafted with mesh and crafting strips right out of the box, covers the hands which were flagged as a major giveaway in the Ghillie vs Drone series
- Alder Leaf Suit Gaiters — covers the boots, another giveaway flagged in previous episodes
- Brown Oak Balaclava — tested uncrafted to see how it holds up as-is
The goal: cover every exposed surface. Skin, boots, hands — anything that gave away position in previous tests gets covered here.
What We Learned — Four Hiding Spots
Hiding Spot 1 — Mixed Foliage, Prone
Nick hidden in a bush with a good mix of brown and green in the surrounding environment. The mixed colorway build — green Alder top, Brown Oak pants — blended naturally into the surroundings. Jeff could see the suit from close range but the breakup of the outline was solid.
What worked: The color mix matched the environment. The crafted gloves covered the hands effectively.
Hiding Spot 2 — Second Position
A second test position in similar terrain. Same result — the suit blended into the environment with the mix of browns and greens working together.
What worked: Consistent performance across different positions in the same area.
Hiding Spot 3 — Bad Hiding Spot Example
An open area with minimal foliage, predominantly brown, and direct sunlight hitting Nick from the front — creating a dark shadow behind him.
This is the most important lesson from the field test: a good ghillie suit doesn't work everywhere. The suit was the same. The spot was wrong.
Two problems with this position:
- Not enough surrounding foliage to break up the outline
- Sun direction created a hard shadow that immediately drew the eye
What this means for your build: Craft for where you plan to hide. Choose positions with cover that matches your colorway. Avoid positions where sun is working against you.
Hiding Spot 4 — Prone in Mixed Terrain
Nick prone in an area with brown pine needles on the ground and green shrubs and smaller plants throughout. The strongest example in the video.
This is exactly why the mixed colorway build was designed the way it was. Pure brown would have worked on the floor but stood out against the green shrubs. Pure green would have blended into the plants but stood out against the pine needles. Both colors together — brown bottom, green top — disappeared into the environment from a distance.
What worked: The two-color strategy paid off directly in this position.
What Worked
- Mixed colorway build performed as designed in environments with both green and brown tones
- Alder Crafted Gloves covered hands effectively — no skin visible
- Gaiters covered the boots — a giveaway in every previous episode
- Brown Oak Balaclava held up uncrafted — may not need crafting depending on environment

What Still Needs Work
- Bottom of the Alder top ran short on material — another kit needed to complete full coverage
- Balaclava may benefit from crafting in a future video depending on field results
- Spot selection — the suit can only do so much in an open area with no foliage cover
